How do I care for my Henkaa Lace Dress or Skirt?

Our Hana Lace Overlay Skirt and Daffodil Lace Dress are made of a beautiful 90% Nylon 10% Spandex Lace and should only be dry cleaned at your local eco friendly dry cleaner. Alternatively, you can spot clean or hand wash carefully.

Should I use fabric softener or bleach on Henkaa Garments?

You should never use fabric softener or dryer sheets with Henkaa Garments. Fabric softener may leave a residue, dull the vibrant colours and even attract bacteria and cause odour.

Avoid using bleach on all Henkaa Garments. Chlorine bleach will damage the fibres of the fabric and also damages our water systems.

My Henkaa Dress is wrinkled, what should I do?

The great thing about our dresses is that they are wrinkle-resistant. However, minor wrinkles may become apparent if packed in a suitcase for too long. We recommend using a steamer or clipping your convertible dress on a pant hanger in the bathroom during a shower. The steam will help the wrinkles disappear. Never iron your Henkaa Dress.

Should I wash my Henkaa garment before I wear it?

Like other garments, we recommend that you wash before first wear. Our fabrics go through a special dyeing process to ensure the colours are vibrant. This also means that your Henkaa Garment should always be washed with like colours.

My Henkaa Dress is coming with me on vacation! What’s the best way to fold my dress?

Henkaa Garments are perfect travel companions! Not only do our dresses wrap into small, convenient packages, they also help you pack lighter because you can style and wear them in so many different ways and for so many occasions. That means you can pack light and save some room for souvenirs from your travels!

Simply hold the dress by the waistband with the straps facing away from your body, then fold in half towards you (bringing each side seam together at the waist). Now fold/roll the skirt down in 8-10" repeating sections until you reach the end of the skirt. Use the remaining strap length to twist loosely around your bundle and you're off!

What are some tips to ensure that my Henkaa Garment has a long lifespan?

Like other fine knit fabrics, it is important to avoid velcros, zippers and rough jewellery and accessories that may snag our Lenaa Knit, Chiffon or Lace fabrics. If you find that your dress may be dragging the ground when you walk, you may want to consider hemming your Henkaa Dress. Please avoid sitting or leaning against rough surfaces.
