This journey began in order to honour founder Freda's Indonesian roots through vibrant colours and unique Batik prints.
The historic practice of Batik involves using wax to create patterns on fabric which then resist dyes when the fabric is immersed in a coloured dye bath.
Many years ago, the island of Java became a centre for the production of Batik, with Javanese people developing their own distinctive styles. Batik became not only a form of artistic expression but also a symbol of social status and cultural identity, with Javanese people creating elaborate designs for royalty and nobility.
