My Summer with the Sakura Dress
As a certified Style CoachTM, I’m always looking for versatile pieces for my clients that can work both formally and casually. The ultimate goal is to help them look stylish and put together, while maximizing the number of outfits they can create with their pieces. The Sakura dress is the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe as it fits and flatters many different body shapes, and can be worn in a multitude of different ways. With its simplicity, the dress also allows you to add your own personal style through the clever use of accessories.
While summer 2020 will look a little different than previous years, with fewer gatherings and adventures, there are many ways to make this piece work in your daily wardrobe.
Outfit 1: Denim Jacket + Striped Tee
Is there anything that says summer more than a little denim jacket? Whether it’s distressed and edgy or classic and blue, this piece is the ultimate layering piece. The Sakura dress, wrapped into a skirt style, hits the knee – exposing the most flattering part of the leg. Pair with any tee, but you can’t go wrong with a striped style for a Parisian influence. This look will take you from farmer’s market runs to the patio with a friend or two.
Outfit 2: The Daily Work Dress
Whether I’m seeing clients from a safe distance, or doing desk work, throwing on a dress is the best way to look put together, with very little effort. Dresses really are the onesies for adults. In a sophisticated style, with a crossed back, the Sakura dress will allow you to move with ease, while still looking professional. Add a vintage clutch or simple bag + statement necklace and you’re ready for the day ahead. With a tuck of the shoulder straps, you can easily go from the afternoon grind to your evening festivities.
Outfit 3: Fun Blazer and Flowing Skirt
While designed as a dress, my favourite way to wear the Sakura is as a skirt. Adding a funky blazer and simple top, allows me to feel put together, while still staying cool. With a simple styling trick – knotting the top at my waist – this look is modern and summer chic. The pleats in the skirt make it extra flowy and flattering.
With so many tutorials on Henkaa TV, you’re sure to find a Sakura style that flatters you best. Don’t be afraid to have fun and think outside the box. The Sakura will easily allow you to dress your best in any season and for any occasion.
