Last Minute Green Dress Comes in Handy!

You know the green henkaa sakura convertible dress that I stuff in my purse last minute?

Well I made good use of it today!  It was super hot and humid in DC, so I opted to wear the dress twisted up as a high waisted skirt to go to a delish Tara Thai lunch .  It's not an easy colour to pull off, but it's an awesome and happy summer colour don't you think?  To keep it casual, I paired it up with my gladiator sandals and a white ribbed tank.

I was extremely stuffed after, so the rouching definitely helped to hide the evidence... yay for that.

Note: I must point out that the dress did come out a tad wrinkled, but I think it's because I tied it a bit too tight.  It was easy to get rid of though - I just hung it up on a hanger and the weight of the dress took care of everything.

Jetsetting with my Fushia (and Green) Henkaa Sakura Dress

Ok, well maybe not on an actual Jet this time.  I'm off for a quick jaunt down to D.C. for the next few days and with this G20 thing going on and all the crazy airline restrictions, I definitely don't want to go through baggage claims at US customs, so I'm traveling light.  With the weather and my plans being uncertain, I'm going to need some flexibility in my wardrobe  too - which is the perfect test for my fushia Henkaa Sakura dress.  After we land, I'm dropping of my bags and heading off to a meeting right after - so I really have no time to go digging in my suitcase for an outfit.

My tiny carry on

I've traveled with the dress before, but this will be a field test to see how the dress survives being wrapped up in a cocoon and stuck at the bottom of my tiny carry-on (that unfortunately could only fit 3 pairs of shoes) and will be squished in the overhead compartment.

Oh and just to be safe, I just stuffed the fun green Henkaa Sakura dress in my purse before I left.  You can never have too many colours choices and god forbid something happens to my carry-on, at least I won't be naked!

Bon voyage all!

From Business to Birthday

I had a business meeting this afternoon so I wore the Henkaa Sakura dress in purple so the client could check it out.

I then had to take my man out for his birthday.  I went as fancy smanchy as we could at Canoe since I happen to know the head chef there and it was close to where my meeting was.  This is a perfect example how the dress can transform from day to night without sacrifice!

Oddly enough, one of the hostesses, Bonnie, came up to me at the dinner table to tell he how much she liked my dress.  Before I told her all about it, I chuckled as Stan glared at me since he's heard the spcheel a bazillion times already.  She told the GM there and she actually came by to say hi too.

When I went to the washroom, I knew Bonnie would be interested in how the Henkaa Sakura convertible dress could change, so I twisted it in a different style and did a runway walk back into the restaurant.  She loved it!
